About the event

For the first time, the Budapest Festival Orchestra will be holding a musical Christmas fair. On the fourth weekend of Advent, December 17 and 18, classical music lovers are welcome to join us in our rehearsal room to really get in tune for the holidays. The latest products of the BFO Shop, discount concert tickets, unique jewelry and children's books will also be on offer. Come and enjoy the free mini concerts and heart-warming hot drinks. May the light of music shine this weekend, as well!

The door of the Budapest Festival Orchestra’s “living room” will be ajar for a whole weekend: the ensemble named the Orchestra of the Year will welcome audiences to its first ever Christmas fair. They will play free surprise concerts on both days and offer visitors hot tea and mulled wine. On December 18, another gem of the Sunday Chamber Music concerts will close the weekend, for which some tickets are still available here.

Visitors to the fair may purchase discounted concert tickets: the BFO will be giving 15% discount to those buying at least four tickets to its symphonic or chamber concerts in January and February. They also have something for those who want the recipients of their presents to have the joy of choosing for themselves: BFO gift cards are the perfect choice for them.

The BFO Shop now has a range of stunning new items: the perfect gifts to bring joy to young and old alike. Our cups featuring the silhouette of Gustav Mahler – a composer that really plays a key role in the life of the orchestra – will be a favorite of coffee and tea aficionados; we also have tote bags and vanity cases with the same design. The orchestra’s festive items include environmentally friendly flasks, notebooks with a musical instrument design, mugs, musical cookie cutters and Christmas baubles.

Kids can choose books from Pagony, while jewelry enthusiasts can check out the unique pieces of Hungarian designers including Marcell Égi, Kata Jermakov, Fanni Király, Veró Lázár and Anna Zeibig.
