POSITION: Corporate Relations Manager

The Budapest Festival Orchestra is rated among the top ten orchestras in the world, with frequent appearances in major concert halls worldwide from New York to London, from Berlin to Vienna. Given the majority of the orchestra’s funding comes from the Hungarian state and the Municipality of Budapest, we are seeking to increase revenues from corporate partners with the help of an experienced and creative new colleague. Our new corporate relations manager will be a member of a team where people laugh together just as much as they work together, support each other in everything, go to the orchestra’s concerts together, and take pride in being part of a world-class orchestra.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Budapest Festival Orchestra is looking for a corporate relations manager who can leverage their expertise and experience to help retain the financial stability of the organization. As a direct report to the Managing Director, they will be responsible for delivering fundraising targets, addressing the needs of patrons and partners, building and maintaining business contacts and achieving an annual net sponsorship target of HUF 50 million.

KEY FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

  • Liaise with representatives of the Hungarian and international corporate sector
  • Develop custom sponsorship options
  • Explore support opportunities, develop offers, make contracts and follow up on the delivery against commitments
  • Create and organize B2B events and other socializing opportunities
  • Manage international partnerships
  • Collaborate with the music director, the Board of Trustees, the manager of the BFO Patrons, the Communication team and other staff members

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 5 years B2B sales and fundraising experience, preferably in a cultural or non-profit setting
  • University/college degree
  • Extensive social network
  • Commitment to the orchestra’s key objectives and values, such as innovation, value creation, openness, tolerance and social sensitivity
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Hungarian and English
  • Creativity in realizing individual ideas for support/fundraising
  • Ability to work independently; eye for detail
  • Flexibility (travelling, working evenings and weekends)
