About cookies and how to use them

Below is a definition of the concept of "cookies" and a summary of the various types of cookies which are used or may be used on the website, as well as their purposes and lifetime (i.e., how long "cookies" remain on your device).

1.What are "cookies"?

Cookies are files or pieces of information placed on your computer (or other internet enabled device, such as a smart phone or a tablet) when you visit the website. A cookie will usually contain the name of the website from which the cookie has come, the "lifetime" of the cookie (i.e. how long it will remain on your device), and a value, which is usually a randomly generated unique number.

2. What do we use "cookies" for?

We use cookies to make the website easier to use, so that it provides you with a better user experience. We also use cookies to compile anonymous, aggregated statistics that allow us to understand how the website is used, and to help us improve its structure and content. We cannot identify you personally from this information.

If you choose to consent to this "cookie" policy, we will also store your choice in a cookie.

3. What type of cookies do we use?

The cookies used on the website are "session cookies", which are not "persistent cookies". Such cookies are used for two purposes:

(ii) The first type of cookies remembers the volume set for the built-in music player for one year to provide a better user experience,

(ii) the second type is a "session cookie" used to identify the logged in user for the duration they use the website, and is deleted from your machine within 2 hours after leaving the website.

When you visit, there will be cookies on the website placed there not by the data processor running the website visited, but by Google Analytics, for the purpose of data analysis. This gives us an insight into user behaviour. When you visit, there will be cookies which qualify as third party cookies, such as cookies from Google AdWords and Facebook Pixel, whose purpose is to present you with personalised advertisements, based on your browsing history. 4. Turning "cookies" off

Most internet browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. You can change the settings to block cookies or to alert you when cookies are being set on your device. There are a number of ways to manage cookies. Please refer to your browser instructions or help screen to learn more about how to adjust or modify your browser settings.

If you disable the cookies that we use, this may impact your experience while on the website.

If you use different devices to view and access the website (e.g. your computer, smartphone, tablet etc.), make sure that each browser on each device is adjusted to suit your cookie preferences.
