Kovács-Madai, Zsuzsanna

She was born in Debrecen. Her first flute teacher is Mrs Becsky Gábor. Between 2003 and 2008  she was a student at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music (in Budapest) in the class of the professors Lóránt Kovács and Zoltán Gyöngyössy. During this period she took part in two international flute competitions and had great success (Paris 2005, Thessaloniki 2007). She was awarded the first prize at the Hartai Ferenc Flute Competition held at the Academy of Music in 2007. She had the opportunity to learn from teachers like István Matuz, László Hadady, Auréle Nicolet, András Adorján and Anders Ljungar-Chapelon at different master courses.

Besides having a soloist's career, she has also performed various kinds of chamber music productions on stage. She regularly worked with the "Ad libitum" wind quintet. At the National Wind Quintet Competition held in 2004 and in 2008 she was awarded the third and the second place, respectively. Beetwen 2004 and 2010 she had been a member of the Danubia Symphonic Orchestra of Óbuda (artistic director: Domonkos Héja). As a young flutist she also interprets the works of contemporary composers with great interest. She has played in the Budapest Festivalorchestra since 2009.
