Jonathan Cohen is one of Britain's finest young musicians. He has forged a remarkable career with notable success as a conductor, cellist and keyboardist. He is well known for his passion and commitment to chamber music which he expands to diverse activities such as Baroque opera and the Classical symphonic repertoire.
He is Artistic Director of Arcangelo, Artistic Director of Tetbury Festival, Associate Conductor of Les Arts Florissants, Artistic Partner of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Music Director Designate of Les Violons du Roy will take up the full role from the 2018-19 season.
Recent conducting highlights include Budapest Festival Orchestra, Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of the Age of Englightenment, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Kammerakademie Potsdam, and Hippolyte et Aricie & Le Nozze di Figaro at Glyndebourne Festival. With Arcangelo, he was awarded the 2012 Gramophone Recital Award for their disc with Iestyn Davies and the 2015 Echo Klassik Concerrt Award for their Mozart disc with Vilde Frang. Arcangelo continue to tour extensively, working with Kristian Bezuidenhout and Isabelle Faust amongst other soloists.
