Roland Csalló

He was born in Keszthely in 1978. He pursued his elementary studies in music at the local music school, then he went on to study at the Ernő Dohnányi Secondary School of Music in Veszprém. Between 1996 and 2000 he studied at the Teacher Training Faculty of the Franz Liszt College of Music, then between 2000 and 2002 at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music. He won several awards at various competitions (1995: János Richter Competition, 1996 and 2000: National Chamber Music Competition, 1999: Young Artist Competition, Belgium). He was a member of the Philharmonic Orchestra in Győr from 1999 until 2001, from 2001 he played at the Operetta Theatre, Budapest and he has been a member of the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra as of 2010. Since 2004 he has regularly been involved in the productions of the BFO, he was one of the winners of the Sándor Végh Competition in 2008 and 2014, and as of 2011 he has been a member of the clarinet section of the orchestra.
