Dávid Bereczky

Dávid Bereczky was born in Budapest in 1972. He learned the violin for 5 years while in primary school, and started playing the horn in 1985. Having completed his studies at the Béla Bartók Conservatory, he studied at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music under Imre Magyari and Ádám Friedrich until his graduation in 1996. He won the Debrecen National Brass Competition both in 1995 and in 1996. He played principle horn with the Matáv Symphony Orchestra from 1993 to October 2001, when he joined the Budapest Festival Orchestra. He performed solo with the BFO on several occasions, including Haydn’s Concerto for Two Horns, Saint-Saëns’s Horn Concerto and Schumann’s Concertpiece for Four Horns and Orchestra. He regularly holds master classes, both in Hungary and abroad. Since 2022 he teaches horn at the Béla Bartók Conservatory in Budapest.
