Iván Fischer Nominated for Oscar of Classical Music

The London-based music magazine Gramophone has announced its shortlist for its "Artist of the Year" Award, one of the highest-profile distinctions of classical music. As tradition dictates, the winner is decided by readers of the magazine.

Among the shortlisted artists one can find besides top-level artists such as Andris Nelsons, Gustavo Dudamel, Jordi Savall, Mitsuko Uchida, Lang Lang, Jonas Kaufmann and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, also the music director of the Festival Orchestra, Iván Fischer.
