The new recording of Mahler's First Symphony has already been a resounding success around the world in the eyes of both audiences and critics, but the disc by Iván Fischer and the Budapest Festival Orchestra now has a chance of winning the most prestigious music award of all.

This is because the four nominees for Best Orchestral Performance on the recently announced list for the Grammy Awards also includes the production brought out on the Channel Classics disc.

The 55th Grammy Awards will take place on 10 February in the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
