Daniela Denschlag,
The German mezzo made her 1999 debut in the role of Erda in the Ring at the Mannheim Opera House, after which invitations to the Bremen, Lyon, Paris and Stuttgart opera houses immediately followed. Since the 2002/2003 season she has been a member of the Vienna State Opera. In her first year she sang mezzo roles in Die Zauberflöte, Götterdämmerung, Jenufa, Salome, Der Rosenkavalier and Gianni Schicchi, while last year her repertoire of roles was extended with performances – among others – in Lulu (Countess Geschwitz), Tristan und Isolde (Brangäne), André Chénier (Madelon) and Madama Butterfly (Suzuki).

The evening closed brilliantly with a stunning performance of Stravinsky`s Firebird Suite that entranced and fired the immagination of the listener.{...} By effectively highlighting certain instruments, Fischer`s wonderful musicianship and charisma as a conductor made it seem as though the mythical firebird had appeared, igniting the stage with flashes of fire from its georgeous plummage.
