BFO in the Community

By now, the Budapest Festival Orchestra is organising three Community Weeks a year, to bring the beauty and strength of music home to every social class and age group. We perform in child care institutions, nursing homes, churches and synagogues, and so share the experience with those who live in disadvantaged areas, the ill and the elderly. Music not only lives, it thrives outside of concert halls! We go wherever we’re needed.

From Salzburg to Cserdi! It is an amazing act of respect how the BFO takes Music everywhere.  (comment on HVG’s Facebook page)

I worked the fields my whole life, we never bothered with such things. I‘d never have thought how beautiful this music could be, I even cried.

You gave great joy to our residents, the sound of your music touched all their hearts. It was especially important for those suffering from dementia and Alzheimer’s, since for them, speech and words have long since lost their meanings, and they can only communicate on an emotional level. And music expresses that which is beyond words! (Emőke Fegyveres, Society of the Sacred Heart Nursing Home)
