Are you curious how the 73-year-old world-class pianist Richard Goode plays Beethoven? Would you listen to a real Russian programme conducted by Dmitri Kitayenko? Are you interested in what the Estonian genius, Paavo Järvi does on the stage? Or would you rather spend an evening with the legendary Greek violinist Leonidas Kavakos? You can do all that and more in the new, 2016/17 season of the Budapest Festival Orchestra. The BFO's Music Director, Iván Fischer will be conducting Ravel, Debussy, Dutilleux, Bartók, Schubert, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Mahler, Liszt and Strauss, and also launching a new series called Rising Stars, in which he provides an opportunity for young conductors to introduce themselves. Season tickets are available from 18 March.

As a Doráti season ticket holder you’ll get to enjoy most of the season in Müpa’s magnificent grand hall. We’ll be waiting for you twice at the Liszt Academy to see Dmitri Kitayenko conducting and the Greek violin virtuoso, Leonidas Kavakos, play. You’ll also receive free bonus tickets to a Sunday Chamber Music concert at the BFO Rehearsal Hall.

Ormándy season ticket holders will get to know the young and talented conductors featured in Iván Fischer’s new series, Rising Stars. 4 concerts + bonus (5th) concert: one of the Back to Nature – Chamber Music on Period Instruments series

Széll season ticket holders will get to enjoy the season’s programme at the wonderful Liszt Academy. You’ll be able to see Dmitri Kitayenko when he returns with a Russian programme, and you’ll be have the chance to take part in the BFO’s Christmas concert, conducted by Gábor Takács-Nagy. As a bonus, Széll season ticket holders will get to see the orchestra’s new series, Back to Nature, where our musicians will be playing period instruments to pieces by Bach, Vivaldi, Telemann, Brahms and Mozart.
