TUSKA_Zoltan

Born in 1967 in Budapest he started to play the violin at the age of 7. In 1979 he was admitted to the Special School of Exceptional Young Talents of the Franz Liszt College of Music, where he later continued his studies for a master’s degree. He graduated in 1991, then in 1992 pursued postgraduate studies in Toronto under Lóránd Fenyves. From 1993 he was concert master and artistic director of the Weiner-Szász Chamber Orchestra for 5 years, between 1998-2001 he was concert master of the Solti Chamber Orchestra. Since 1998 he has participated at the Festung-concerts in Salzburg and the festivals of András Schiff (Ittingen, Vicenza, Weimar). As of the same year until 2010 he was a member of the Mikrokosmos String Quartet (members: Gábor Takács-Nagy, Zoltán Tuska, Sándor Papp, Miklós Perényi), in 2008 they recorded all the string quartets of Bartók on CD as part of the Bartók New Series. Since 2010 he has been the first violinist of the Auer Quartet and since 2012 he has been the concert master of the Budapest Strings Chamber Orchestra. He has played regularly in the Festival Orchestra since 1988.
