Lajos Dvorák was born in 1964 in Budapest. He graduated from the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, where his violincello professor was László Mező. Between 1988 and 1992 he played in the orchestra of the Hungarian National Opera House, since 1992 he has been member of the violincello section of the Budapest Festival Orchestra. Founder and artistic leader of the Grassalkovich String Quartet, he performs regularly in Hungary and abroad.
