Jérémy Sassano

Born in 1987, Jérémy Sassano began the oboe at the age of 9 in Tours, his native region in France. Prize-winner of the competition UFAM in Paris, he joined the class of Jean-Louis Capezzali and Jérôme Guichard in September 2005 at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique of Lyon where he completed his ‘Master of Music’ with full marks.

His will to travel and discover Germany in particular brought him to successfully study the distinguished german soloist degree ‘Konzertexam’ in the class of Christian Schmitt in Stuttgart in 2010. He is now assisting Christian Schmitt in this class since 2014.

In 2010, at the age of 22, Jérémy won the Principal Cor Anglais position of the Frankfurter Opern- und Museumsorchester and more recently, in 2015, of the WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne at the same position.

First prize of the 6th International Oboe Competition in Petritoli (Italy) in 2013 and with a wealth of his experiences abroad, his passion for orchestral music brought him to perform regularly with prestigious orchestras.
