Nagy Gabriella

Gabriella Nagy was born in Budapest in 1971. She started playing the violin at the age of six, and was admitted to the preparatory class of the Béla Bartók Secondary School of Music in 1985, where she studied under László Dénes. She has been a member of the Ferenc Erkel Chamber Orchestra since 1987, and was appointed their principal second violinist in 1988. She began her studies at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in 1990 as a student of Gyöngyi Répássy, and received her degree in chamber music performance four years later. She has participated in master classes by Dénes Zsigmondy and Ferenc Rados. Gabriella Nagy first played with the Budapest Festival Orchestra in May 2001, and has been a member of the ensemble since the autumn of 2003. In 2004 she was among the winners of the orchestra’s Sándor Végh Competition
