Dall'Abaco, Evaristo Felice

Evaristo Felice Dall’Abaco was born in Verona in 1675 to a musical family; his talent presumably came to the fore as a pupil of Torelli, which he then capitalised on in the court in Modena. In 1704 he joined the court of Maximilian II. Emanuel, elector of Bavaria. From 1715 he was appointed ‘concert-meister’ of the court orchestra, before retiring in 1740 and dying in 1742. The style of his works suggests he was influenced by Corelli and Vivaldi as well as French contemporary musicians.
