Attila Martos was born in 1969. He attended the Szombathely Conservatory as a student of György Janzsó, and graduated in 1992 from the Liszt Academy as a student of Aladár Pege.

He was a founding member of the Orfeo Orchestra in 1991 and joined the Budapest Festival Orchestra in 1992. Between 1995 and 2000 he was also a member of the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra. He has been teaching double-bass at the St Stephen Conservatory since 2013.
